IELTS Preparation Course

The IELTS exam is divided into four sections: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing, with each section scored on a scale of 0 to 9. The overall score is calculated as the average of these four scores, rounded to the nearest half or whole band, with a maximum total score of 9. IELTS scores remain valid for two years and are not categorised as pass or fail but rather distinguish between higher and lower scores. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and have a native language other than English. Compared to the IELTS exams in China, candidates often find it more attainable to achieve scores ranging from 5.0 to 7.5 in the Singapore IELTS exams. Obtaining an IELTS score during their study period in Singapore allows candidates to prepare early for future educational opportunities, as Singapore’s recognition of IELTS scores is higher than in China.

IELTS exams are categorised as follows:
  • Academic (A) – Suitable for students planning to study abroad.
  • General Training (G) – Appropriate for individuals intending to work or immigrate in English-speaking countries like Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK, or applying for training and non-degree courses.
